Short skirts, long eyelashes ... In the 60s, British youth rebelled against the establishment with loud music and informal clothes.

MODE MOVEMENT
It originated in the 60s in British rock music. The most successful were (left to right) groups The small Faces, The Klinks and The Who.

"Today - with polka dots, tomorrow - with stripes, because he always follows fashion ..."
So the British group sang in 1966 The klinks, which became one of the founders of a new musical movement, praising fashion. Youth rejoiced and sang along!

Torn jeans were replaced by elegant Italian suits, parkas (see photo on the left), narrow ties and polished patent leather shoes to shine.

Girls enjoyed wearing miniskirts and short dresses, created according to the sketches of Mary Quantum (photo on the left). Top models Twiggy (photo in the middle) and Gene Shrimpton (photo on the right) introduced false eyelashes.
Fashion wore expensive clothes, thus expressing their protest to class consciousness, the idea that only rich people can afford to dress like this.
They dissociated themselves from conventions and regulations. It was a generation of "elegant rebels."
In the cult film "Photo Attraction", the incomparable Vanessa Redgrave immortalized this amazingly bright period.
