Every year on the night of October 31 to November 1 in America and in Europe, and now in Russia, fun parties are organized with dressing up in bright characters.
Most often, these characters become images of evil spirits - according to ancient Celtic traditions, which became the source of the "merry night". We will not touch on the topic here - is this holiday really propagandizing the cult of death and how much it contradicts our customs, all the more so since in Russia no more than 5% of residents celebrate Halloween today, and even then in large cities.
But in many other countries, both children and adults willingly take part in peculiar night mysteries-carnivals. By the way, it was on this night that the girls wondered about their betrothed, and the children went home and asked for various sweets.
On the streets decorated with pumpkin lanterns and lanterns with a candle inside (designed to scare away evil spirits from the house), melodies imitating the presence of ghosts are heard: rustling, creaking, mournful sighs and even howling. Have you heard Danny Elfamo's song "This is Halloween" dedicated to this holiday?
And of course, everyone is happy after a fun street masquerade to sit down at the festive table, on which there must be dishes from apples and pumpkins, as well as various sweets in bright candy wrappers and hot corn.
