Patricio di Marco, Duke of the Kingdom of Francois-Henri Pinault, owner of Kering, an association of luxury clothing and accessories manufacturers, recently resigned as president of the Gucci Fashion House.

LAST DAY NEWS
Gucci Fashion House CEO Patricio di Marco and creative director Frida Gianini (his wife) Fashion house Gucci could not cope with a drop in sales and asked for a resignation. Di Marco will leave the Fashion House on January 1, 2015, and Frida Gianini at the end of February. The new CEO of Gucci has been appointed President of the Bottega Veneta brand and CEO of Kering’s luxury division, Marco Bizzari. Frida Gianini is delayed in order to present his new collection in Milan at the end of winter / beginning of spring (Fall / Winter 2015/2016). The resignation of two brand managers was initiated by Kering, which will continue the main brand development strategy. Compared to other Kering brands - Yves Saint Laurent and Bottega Veneta - Gucci's sales in 2014 went negative, mainly due to a change in preferences in China and Russia - here consumers begin to switch from small luxury brands to giant brands and online trading.
Can't we afford luxury now?
Who does not know the brand logo! His fakes are sold on every corner. But now the direction of the range is smoothly turning towards luxury fashion - more expensive, exclusive goods - to where it appeared at the very beginning. This reversal is directly related to the arrival of Patricio di Marco. “The logo should not be the only means to attract customers,” said the Duke. And above all, this applies to famous bags.

It is unlikely that the founder of the company, Guccio Gucci could assume that his company would fall into the hands of an aristocrat. In his youth, Guccio worked for more than 10 years as a porter at the Savoy Hotel in London and, returning to Florence, opened his store, being sure that the GG logo on luggage is his future ace of trumps, because who could know everything about luggage better than him.
By the way, Gucci only got cloth bags due to necessity. In the 30s of the last century, Italians enjoyed poor fame in the world and the supply of high-quality leather and accessories to the country stopped. Then Gucci began to sew bags of very durable fabric, especially for which he came up with a signature Diamante pattern. Since then, bags made of cloth have been very popular all over the world.

Indeed, the company founded in 1921, despite the feud within the family with constant litigation, brother against brother, despite balancing on the verge of bankruptcy, nevertheless brought varying success until 2004, while the representative of the Gucci family de Sole, and creative Director Tom Ford did not leave their posts without agreeing with the owners about the payment. It was then that brand sales fell to a minimum.
In 2008, the company was headed by di Marco, who set himself the task of returning to the brand the greatness that, in his opinion, he deserves. After all, there are only two companies in the world whose design is world famous - Gucci and Louis Vuitton. And at the same time, the Gucci brand logo appeared not just on cheap sets of lighters or cosmetic bags, but almost on toilet paper rolls. Nevertheless, the corporate design and logo is not everything, because the brand really has a huge potential and heritage. The Gucci brand is historically closely connected with the world of cinema (clients are Audrey Hepburn, Ingrid Bergman, Grace Kelly) and equestrian sports. And those who visited the Gucci Museum in Florence can make sure that from its very foundation the company has been producing exclusive products: all things have been done with high quality and by hand.

Gucci House is also famous for its collections of fashionable clothes. Currently, this line is headed by Italian Frida Giannini (Frida Giannini). The new collection of the creative director is designed in the style of the 60s - chic and at the same time simple, sophisticated, in calm pastel-powder tones, with an abundance of leather and a traditional for Gucci leopard print, with hand-embroidered crystals and decorated with fur elements. Of course, accompanied by stunning accessories: from glamorous retro-style glasses and sleek bags to high reptile leather boots.
