“With my works I try to find a balance between visual and tactile, between color and texture,” says our heroine.

About the page author

Our heroine today is called Judith, and she makes unusual tapestries and panels in their brightness and form. “My name is Judith Just, I’m from Barcelona, but I have been living in Asheville, North Carolina for the last 4 years, where I have been creating all these colorful tapestries,” Judith writes. “I studied fashion design, sculpture and textile art, but I actually learned weaving when I was very young, as my mother was engaged in weaving. I have always been attracted to the phenomenon of synesthesia (the phenomenon of perception, when you perceive the same thing through two different senses, sensory systems). This is a mixture of impressions that captivates you and leads you involuntarily to activate another sensory path. With my work I’m trying to find a balance between visual and tactile, between color and texture. My goal is to share these amazing feelings with everyone. "

What is this page about

Indeed, Judith's work is both very bright, juicy and, obviously, interesting in texture and texture. We cannot touch them through the screen of a smartphone or monitor, but admiring the combinations of saturated colors, we can imagine how diverse the spectrum of tactile sensations arising from contact with them is. Judith uses yarn, threads of different colors and thicknesses, but not only.In these abstract works, certain relics woven into the canvas and waiting to be noticed and paid attention to find their place. For example, here is what our heroine tells about one of her works: "To pieces of yarn I added strips of fabric from the curtains that I remember from my childhood, a few laces from the same place, scraps of fabric from my mother’s wedding dress, parts of napkins; if you look closely, you you’ll find here also two old keys.
