Thing of the day: Teddy bear coat by Max Mara
This cult model for more than a year excites the consciousness and wallets of fashionistas around the world. Stars and celebrities are happy to wear the very Teddy Bear from Max Mara, which, for a minute, in its first performance cost about half a million rubles!
Today, white and teddick, blue, gray-beige, brown, black, soft pink and trendy leopard print have been added to the red and color of camel.
The price of models became slightly lower, with a small spread from two hundred to three hundred thousand rubles.

Masmarkets also did not stand aside and did not miss a chance to approach high fashion, taking advantage of such a sweet opportunity to satisfy the incredible demand of everyone who wants to become the owners of a "coat-bear cub" in the style of Max Mara.
Masmarket models, of course, differ from the original, but, nevertheless, look decent. There are even instances sewn from ordinary coat colors of camel color and a coat made of natural sheepskin.
Original model
But still, the original Teddy Bear Icon Coat from Max Mara is special. The coat really looks like a fur coat, but this is only an external illusion. In fact, the stylish oversize is sewn from camel hair on a silk basis. The front surface of the fabric with a visible effect of fur. More "budget" options have a cotton or wool base, fur fibers - alpaca wool or sheep wool. All models are made on viscose lining with a company logo.
The original model of a narrowed silhouette, with a one-piece back, wide lapels, a lowered shoulder line, set-in sleeves, welt pockets and a double-breasted two-button fastener. Despite all the "thickness" of the fabric, the coat has a pick. Product length just below the knees.
The side seams of the model are shifted to the back and look like a continuation of the armholes of the sleeves.
The half-sleeve is two-seam, and the outer seam is curly.
A wide stitching has been made along the curly seams of the sleeves, side seams, along the side, lapels and collar, creating a stylistic volume and focusing on the details.
Repeating the original Teddy Bear coat will not be easy. If you have the skills of modeling and design, then a similar task will be within your power.
I want to propose a simpler option, not to strive to repeat the original exactly, but to sew a “teddy bear coat” in the Max Mara style according to Burda patterns.

The change that will need to be made to the pattern is to combine the detail of the collar stand with the collar. This is necessary because it is not easy to work with bulky and thick fabric, but to perform such a small part by all the rules in this case will be problematic.
Fabric for Teddy Bear
The most important thing, in my opinion, in the “teddy bear coat” is the fabric. It is she who hurts the teddy mood. In addition, working with the original material is very tempting, and besides - this is a completely new experience.
So, a milk-colored fabric with a fur effect, just like in the original. Both the base and the pile are composed of 100% virgin wool.
In its plasticity, the basis of the material resembles a slightly extensible, but well-kept knitted fabric.
Pile directed, soft, does not roll and does not wrinkle. Pile height 1.2 cm.
The fabric is not afraid of the WTO! You can iron, but without pressing, and only from the wrong side, with the steam function turned on.
For best results, fold the fabric in half with the front side inward, or iron the fabric unfolded on a soft substrate, such as a terry towel.
Pile from the front side is not jammed, in places of addition it is completely restored.
After ironing the fabric, let it rest and cool.
Interesting fact
For the sake of the purity of the experiment, it is worth saying that I tried to iron this fabric and on the front side - the pile remained "untouched"!
Fabric decanting
The only acceptable and possible way for this fabric is to slightly moisten the underside with a spray bottle.
On a flat surface, spread the fabric with the wrong side up and sprinkle sparingly (!) The underside of the spray gun. Leave the fabric in this condition until completely dry. Then iron it from the wrong side, as mentioned above.
Duplication
The fabric is heavy and holds its shape well. Glue for knitted fabric on a woven basis is ideal for duplication. It is well fixed on the surface, stabilizes it, but at the same time, the plasticity of the material is preserved.
